Lewisham Refugee and Migrant Network (£1,967,580, 2021-25)
LRMN “exists to empower refugees and other migrants and to bring about systemic change to remove the challenges they face”. In August it signed an open letter to the Prime Minister for “a fairer and more humane approach to asylum accommodation and housing” and bemoaned the “hostile environment faced by migrants, refugees and people seeking asylum”.
Lewisham, incidentally, is the UK’s first recognised “Borough of Sanctuary” (“a welcoming place to all sanctuary seekers – refugees, people seeking asylum and migrants”). In May the Green Party took over Lewisham Council,
