EXCLUSIVE: Sadiq Khan's top team costs taxpayers nearly £2.7 MILLION
It's a substantial rise from the last time I calculated the bill
Recently I spotted that Sadiq Khan has recruited a new member to his top team.
Meet Nadeem Javaid MBE, Mayoral Director, Global Relations and Communities, who’s on a salary of £147,770 per year.
Good-oh!
Javaid’s appointment means the Mayor of London currently has:
9 x Deputy Mayors
2 x Chief of Staff
4 x Mayoral Directors
5 x Special Appointments
So what’s the bill for all this?
Well, dear taxpayer, I regret to tell you it’s:
£2,651,228!
(And that’s excluding Sadiq Khan’s own salary, which is £165,001).

To add, the last time I totted up the numbers (December 2024), the bill came to £2.4 million…
The figures keep increasing - even in spite of the departure of overpaid “Night Czar” Amy Lamé, who cost taxpayers £132,846 per year.
Ever feel you’re in the wrong job?
You can see my full calculations below:
To add, Will Norman’s salary is in the range of £120,000 - £124,999 (I have used the lower band to be safe - although, knowing Khan’s administration, it’ll probably be the latter!), and the only available info on Waxman’s salary is from 2017, for 3.5 days a week (any more detailed information welcome).

Presumably he'll be jetting off in the First Class cabin to the next C40 CITIES junket along with his boss asap.
Was this selection open to any qualified applicant irrespective of ethnicity or sex and in line with the law??????
