I love the Lefty idea that Ireland has a really successful presidential model. Have they not noticed that Ireland is going up in smoke almost as fast as this country (under a "democratically" elected PM). And what's this about the democratically elected Johnson with a huge majority apparently being not subject to checks? He was - but not the checks the lefty Remainers could control. Of course, they point to Europe (aka the EU) as an example of modern up-to-date states, skipping over the dire states they are in and the fact that some of them still have monarchs.

I am not surprised that there is an industry in producing cribsheets for lefty losers. Left to their own, they would go off at tangents and contradict each other when one is not sufficiently extreme. I recall when I worked in the Australian public service in the 80s that all middle managers were sent on "training" courses on how to treat staff and how to handle questions from the press and tv. It was all about ensuring everyone was compassionate (ie let the lazy and useless drift along and be carried by everyone else - sanctions were NOT to be employed!) and presenting a consistent front to the media on policy questions. To this end, we were told to prepare answers to the questions we wanted to answer, and have three different versions for each question in which the same conclusion was reached but by a different route. It did not matter what you were asked - you were told to ignore it almost (just a fleeting reference to it) and then you trotted out what you had prepared (version one). If the question was pursued by a persistent interviewer then you just reeled off version two - or three, if necessary. Originality and thinking on your feet was definitely not wanted.
