Left-wing think tanks taxpayers should have NEVER been charged for
They say they're "independent" but sound pretty left-wing to me...
In today’s article I will show you left-wing think tanks (registered as charities) that taxpayers should have never been charged for IMO.
These organisations say they are “independent” - but they are like paying for an extra wing of the Labour government. See what you think…
The New Economics Foundation - £564,360 (2019-23)
Thinks mayors and local councils need £32bn a year and the past government was basically stingy
Fundraised £20k so that it could campaign for a Frequent Flyer Levy (despite having plenty of funders, in addition to taxpayers’ money)
Wants a “Green New Deal” (an idea originally pushed by the most left-wing Democrats - eg AOC - in the US)
The Institute for Public Policy Research - £388,000 (2019-23)
Calls for a “reimagined approach to asylum housing” to “improve standards”, with “services like English lessons, skills training, and community engagement”
Staff members use ideologically-loaded terms such as “austerity” and “hostile environment” on their profiles
British Future - £498,730 (2019-23)
Director is the ghastly Sunder Katwala
Tries to “help shift public attitudes” to help Britain become “inclusive and fair to all” re accept immigration and asylum
Publishes reports such as “The power of football to connect diverse communities”
The Barrow Cadbury Trust, which gives loads of money to open border causes (and receives taxpayer funding!)
Universities UK (which has received over £17 million in taxpayer money since 2019).
The Institute for Fiscal Studies - £10.15 million (2018-22)
Blames “austerity-induced youth club closures” for teens committing crimes
Director Paul Johnson pushes the “austerity myth” (pretends the UK had it when the Government was spending money on crazy things) and hosted “The Austerity Audit” on BBC Radio 4 in 2020.
Has a “PhD Enrichment Student” as a member of staff
Hosted Dan Neidle as an expert on its podcast, who is described as “a tax lawyer and founder of Tax Policy Associates” but happens to be a senior Labour activist.
I’m sure there’ll be more to come…
