Lord Darroch: Remoaner Extraordinaire

The former ambassador is now director of Best for Britain

Did you know that Lord (Kim) Darroch is Director of the ultra-Remainer group Best for Britain?

I confess the news rather passed me by - but this has been the case since 2021…

… when he was also appointed “Chairperson”:

Best for Britain, to elaborate, describes itself as “the researchers, data scientists, strategists, and activists, fixing the problems Britain faces after Brexit. We conduct polling to help politicians lead debate, not follow it.” (Notice how this is the case with almost all polls, incidentally).

Best for Britain regularly posts about the “far right” and how bad Trump is…

…which makes it the perfect organisation for Darroch, who insulted Trump in 2019, while he was the British Ambassador to the United States. Diplomacy, ey!

That year he became Director and Chair, he commented on how impressed he’d been watching Best for Britain “successfully turn from a temporary campaign against Brexit, to a permanent organisation for internationalist values.”

He added:

I am delighted to join Best for Britain’s Board and our campaign for strengthened relations abroad and better democracy at home.

Remember, kids: trying to undermine Brexit - pretty much Best for Britain’s full-time mission - means “better democracy at home”…

That’s when it’s not achieving other fantastic things for the country, including the Labour government…

I think we can all agree from this that the Civil Service has never been ideologically captured…
