Why did LBC tick off Robert Jenrick?
Was it on behalf of Sadiq Khan, who has a partnership with Global?
Today you may have seen that Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick released a film showing all the horrible things that happen daily on Transport for London. I recommend giving it a watch here.
Soon afterwards, Henry Riley, a reporter and presenter from LBC, had an “exclusive” about Jenrick’s exclusive, claiming that the Shadow Justice Secretary broke Transport for London (TfL) rules. “LBC has had it confirmed Robert Jenrick did NOT have permission to film on Transport for London property”, he posted on X:
Dig deeper into the company structure of LBC, and Riley’s tweet looks less like an “exclusive” and more like a warning from Sadiq Khan.
To explain, LBC is owned by Global, which is “the sole provider of tube advertising” and has a partnership with TfL:
