A summary of George Soros’s (via The Open Society Foundations) involvement in UK politics so far.
To add, the list of things the OSF funds is VERY big - so this isn’t the end, but this gives you a pretty good idea. Here’s a link to the grant database if you fancy a nose yourself.
Sadiq Khan’s C40 Cities
The Mayor of London is co-Chair of the C40 global alliance, whose funders include the OSF:
Remainer/ anti-Brexit groups
Soros has given millions to Best for Britain, the anti-Brexit group that’s been promoted by the likes of Carol Vorderman and Anna Soubry. Grant link
Lord Darroch has been its director since 2021.
The OSF has awarded hundreds of thousands to Euromove, whose co-presidents are Caroline Lucas and Dominic Grieve. Mike Galsworthy is the Chair. Grant link
The organisation, founded by Galsworthy (above and below with Femi Oluwole) has received $42,975 from the Open Society Foundations. Grant link
In general, Soros has put a lot of capital into these groups, as you can see from this press release:
Think tanks
Chatham House - the “International Affairs Think Tank”
Eco mania
According to Companies House, Soros funded the Green New Deal All-Party Parliamentary Group - now defunct - which Caroline Lucas and Clive Lewis ran. In general Soros is very big on a “Green New Deal”…
… which - interestingly enough - Trump promised to end yesterday
Platform London
The OSF tasked Platform with establishing “a genuine worker-led energy transition narrative in order to accelerate managed phase-out of oil and gas in the North Sea” - aka help ruin Britain’s energy versatility.
Charities
Universities
Two have had particularly large amounts (Birkbeck and the London School of Economics and Political Science)
Others:
University of London (NB. the search results show other universities based in London)
The World’s Worst Economist
Keir Starmer's "star economist" was awarded $3 MILLION from George Soros
Ever noticed how many times Labour uses the word “mission”? For instance, there’s a whole section dedicated to missions in the Labour manifesto (2024):
Protest groups
The union is based at Pelican House - the same address as listed on Jeremy Corbyn and Carla Denyer’s registered interests, under the name “We Deserve Better”. The address links to a Far Left cooperative where (the German-funded) Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung is based, along with other radical groups.
All Party-Parliamentary Groups (APPG)
Flights
Naz Shah, the MP for Bradford West, was flown to Brazil by the OSF:
Like I say, there’ll be more to come…
Foreign interference, ey!
